Hi @Tasha77,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP computer is stuck on the logo screen during startup, you can try the following troubleshooting steps.

Force Restart the Computer

  • Press and hold the power button until the computer shuts down (about 5-10 seconds).
  • Wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.

Disconnect External Devices

  • Unplug any external devices (USB drives, printers, external hard drives, etc.).
  • Restart the computer to see if it boots up normally.

Boot into Safe Mode

  • Restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key (or Shift + F8) right after powering it on. This should bring up the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  • Select Safe Mode and press Enter. If the computer boots in Safe Mode, it might be a software issue.

Perform a System Restore

  • If you can access Safe Mode, you can perform a system restore:
    • Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore.
    • Follow the prompts to restore your system to a previous point when it was working properly.

Run Startup Repair

  • If you have a Windows installation USB or recovery drive:
    • Boot from the USB drive.
    • Select your language preferences and click Next.
    • Click Repair your computer.
    • Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
    • Follow the prompts to let Windows attempt to fix the startup issues.

Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart the computer and press F10 or Esc (depending on your model) to enter the BIOS setup.
  • Make sure the boot order is correct (usually your hard drive should be first).
  • Exit saving changes, then try to boot again.

Reset BIOS to Default Settings

  • While in the BIOS, you can also reset the settings to default:
    • Look for an option like Load Default Settings or Restore Factory Defaults.
    • Save changes and exit.

Check Hardware Connections

  • If you're comfortable, open the computer case (if it's a desktop) and ensure that the RAM and hard drive connections are secure.
  • For laptops, ensure that the RAM is seated properly.

Last Resort: Reinstall Windows

  • If all else fails, you may need to consider reinstalling Windows. Be sure to back up your data if possible before doing this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
