My HP Evny 360 Keeps randomly restarting, over and over. I removed the battery and checked everything inside the computer to no prevail. This all happened after that new software update. I’ve reached out to support so many times and still haven’t heard from anyone, so I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on and if anyone else may have some answers. I’ve troubleshoot it in every way that I can and I followed every directions that the HP support has said. I went back and uninstalled the first update, and now it won’t let me go back and on install other updates, so I just need a little bit of help. I’m currently cleaning the inside of my computer of any dust or debris just to make sure that’s not the case but I really need help on this situation so I can get back to work on my computer. Any suggestions of anyone who knows what they’re doing would be great.

Hi @BreeZyBabyy

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting, and I can imagine how frustrating this must be—especially since support hasn't been responsive.

Since the issue started after a software update, and you've already tried uninstalling one but can't roll back further, let's try a few more steps:

1. Boot into Safe Mode

  • Since your laptop keeps restarting, try booting into Safe Mode (Shift + Restart → TroubleshootAdvanced OptionsStartup SettingsEnable Safe Mode).
  • If the laptop stays stable in Safe Mode, the issue is likely driver-related—at this point, reinstalling display or system drivers may fix it.

2. Run System File Checker

  • In Safe Mode, open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
    sfc /scannow
  • This will check for corrupt system files and attempt repairs.

3. Check Event Viewer for Error Logs

  • Open Event Viewer (Win + X → Event Viewer).
  • Navigate to Windows Logs → System and look for critical errors around the time of the last restart.
  • If there's a driver failure or repeated crashes, this log can help pinpoint the issue.

4. Disable Automatic Restart

  • Go to Control Panel → System → Advanced System Settings.
  • Under Startup and Recovery, uncheck Automatically Restart.
  • This may help capture an actual error message instead of looping restarts.

5. Check Windows Update History & Reinstall Recent Updates

  • Go to Settings → Windows Update → Update History.
  • If possible, manually reinstall the last successful update—sometimes, partially installed updates cause instability.

6. Perform a Hard Reset

  • If you haven’t already:
    • Unplug the charger, hold the power button for 30+ seconds, and restart.
    • This clears residual power issues.

7. Last Resort: Reset Windows Without Losing Files

  • If the issue persists, try a Windows reset:
    • Settings → Recovery → Reset this PC → Keep my files.
    • This reinstalls Windows but keeps your personal files intact.

Hopefully, this helps get your HP Envy 360 stable again!
