HP: dv4-5110TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Everything was fine when i last used my laptop. The next day when i turned my laptop on, it wasn't responding at all. I thought maybe i forgot to put it on charge. So when i connected the charger, there was no response again. It's totally dead. What should i do now?

It may be a hardware issue.
Try hard reset your notebook.
Remove the battery and press power button for 5 seconds then insert battery again and try to restart the PC.
If it doesn't help you then it might be serious hardware issue.

step One remove the BIG battery , see it run all AC power all day long, does it>? do tell.?? this is FIRST. on all LT made.

dv4-5110TX

what OS, windows 10? really.

its old DV4 are old but not too old 2012 is year, I think.

responding at all"  means.

power does not stay one?

screen is 100% dead, not even the classic,  "hit ESC to enter setup's see for 5 years.

fan inside is dead?, dont blow, or vents packed in lint and overheats fast.?

CD tray eject works, ?

BEEP CODE errors heard or caps lock key flash codes seen (Morse code like?)???

The Bios keys are dead ?, power on press ESC to enter bios, is that DEAD?  it prompted you for 5 years. this.????

that is true dead, , or just OS dead.  ?? only>>

can you boot to Linux, stick or CD>?  it's free to make and use on any PC,  and can do lots of tests using it.

 DAY1:

this pc came with Windows 7 or 8 new,  never W10 and is not certifed from  w10 by HP. (means support, for 7/8)

so how did it magically get to w10? be nice to tell that story first, no?>

  • free upgrade ICON from MS, clicked
  • Fresh loaded w10 from MS?
  • or what, way? booted from DVD, way, from what media, do tell please.

changing to W10 makes the F11 recovery key (HP) now dead. or other bad effects , ill not delve into now.

the support page is here but DOES NOT COVER W10  , AT ALL,  SO LOTS OF WORDS THERE WILL BE DEAD  WRONG.

HDD problem. no OS stated, is that helpful ?

HDD problem of W10 told you the hdd is bad it is.  end story

if you dont believe W10 SMART HDD tests, then run crystal disk smart, see it is bad.

end story again.

alex,  all HDD fail, not one used every day last for 10 years, some go dead, and the reset go 1/2 dead./

if the smart shows. errors here, the HDD is bad,

see C6 parameter here, 0  good not zero bad.

end story end hdd ,  l
