I check the adapter it is fine with 18.5v output, and the charge connector port(i.e. 7pin cable to the system board provide 18.5v and 17.4v in two of those pins) is also fine where I double check using my multimeter. But when I measure the output after connecting to the system board the 18.5v and 17.4v readings goes null and I thought some component might gone wrong. Therefore need help if possible to troubleshoot these issue. Findings schematic diagram of the system board would be very helpful(I already get the service manual).
Thank you for your patience and possible consideration of the troubleshoot

Hi @Samlook,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
If your HP Pavilion G6 (model 1b59WM) is neither charging nor booting and you’ve verified that the AC adapter and charge connector port are functioning correctly, it’s likely that the issue is related to the laptop’s internal components. Since you have already checked the power output from the adapter and the charging connector port, here are some additional troubleshooting steps and considerations to help diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:
Step 1: Verify Battery Status
Remove the Battery:
- If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out and try powering the laptop with only the AC adapter connected. This can help determine if the battery might be causing the issue.
Inspect Battery:
- Check the battery for any signs of physical damage or swelling. A damaged battery could prevent the laptop from booting.
Step 2: Check Power Button and Connections
Power Button Check:
- Press the power button and see if there is any response, such as LED lights or fan noise. Sometimes, the power button might be faulty or disconnected internally.
Inspect Internal Connections:
- Open the laptop (if comfortable) and ensure all internal cables and components are securely connected. Pay special attention to the connections between the power button, motherboard, and other critical components.
Step 3: Perform a Hard Reset
- Hard Reset Procedure:
- Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the AC adapter (and the battery if applicable) and try turning on the laptop.x
Step 4: Inspect for Component Damage
Check for Visible Damage:
- Look for any burnt or damaged components on the motherboard, especially around the charging port and power circuitry.
Examine the System Board:
- If you’re comfortable with further disassembly, inspect the motherboard for any signs of damage or malfunctioning components.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Samlook,
Please find the remaining steps below.
Step 5: Test Power Components
Check Power ICs:
- If you have experience with electronics, you can test the power ICs on the motherboard that regulate charging and power distribution. Common components to check include the DC-DC converter and charging ICs.
Measure Voltages:
- Use a multimeter to measure voltages at various points on the motherboard, particularly around the power input area and components related to power regulation.
Step 6: Review the Service Manual
Consult the Service Manual:
- Use the service manual to identify the locations of key components and to understand the power distribution layout on the motherboard.
Find Schematic Diagrams:
- If the service manual does not include detailed schematic diagrams, you may need to search online for third-party resources or forums where such diagrams might be available.
If you’re unable to resolve the issue with the steps above, consider contacting HP Phone Support for repair.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
