HP Stream Laptop PC

Okay so, my Hp Stream Laptop that's about 3 years old from what I can remember won't turn on anymore. I can charge it and the light that indicates it's charging will show, but the most the laptop will do is turn on and show the Hp logo like it would usually show if you were to restart it, but the loading icon never shows and after a few seconds the logo disappears and the screen goes black. The laptop is still on I can tell but nothing is on the screen so i'd say it just goes black. After about 20-30 seconds it goes right back to the logo and just goes through a loop until I shut it off again. 3 years ago, I had reset it (I guess I reset it) which was supposed to wipe all the data and it not wanting to restart was the result. So it's been 3 years since this laptop has been used and no one I know can fix this for a price lower than what I paid for, so I decided to see if anyone has had a similar problem and knows what to do. I managed to take the back off the laptop so if taking out the battery or anything like that is required then it shouldn't be a problem to manage.

I can't remember everything from when it was working, like the operating system. It was either windows 7 (64-bit) or windows 10 (64-bit)

@KingSmores Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the Hp Stream Laptop won't turn on after reset.

I have a few steps that should help,

Some HP Notebook PCs come with two sticks of memory and have two memory slots. If you experience a black screen or blue screen with HP logo, the problem could be with one of the sticks of memory or with one of the memory slots.

To determine what is causing the failure, try to isolate the problem by:

  • Performing a memory self-test

  • Checking for loose memory modules

  • Testing the memory modules

  • Testing the memory slots
