HP ProBook 450 G8 Notebook PC IDS Base Model

I just want to inform you that My Laptop "HP ProBook 450 G8 Notebook PC IDS Base Model" has been theft . Detail: Product=464P0AV & Serial Number=(EDITED); OS Build: 10.0.22631.4602. I've lost it in M.P., India and proper FIR has been recorded which is attached herewith. (Edited)

Plz help me to find it. Kindly notify me once you find if this laptop is used anywhere.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Regarding the theft of your HP ProBook:

Can HP Track it?

  • No. HP does not have the ability to track lost or stolen devices via Serial Number or IMEI. HP Support cannot "ping" the device or block it remotely.

What You Should Do:

  1. Police FIR: You have already filed an FIR, which is the correct first step. Tracking is strictly a law enforcement matter.

  2. Microsoft "Find My Device":

    • Log in to your Microsoft Account at account.microsoft.com/devices.

    • If you had "Find My Device" enabled on the laptop, you might see its last known location or be able to lock it remotely.

  3. HP Support: You can contact HP Support to flag the serial number in their internal repair database. If someone sends that specific laptop to an HP Service Center for repair, the system may alert the technician (though this does not guarantee recovery, it serves as a record).

  4. Change Passwords: Immediately change passwords for your Email, Banking, and Social Media accounts that were logged in on that device.
