HI @Deeev,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your PC displays the message "Your PC/Device needs to be repaired," it usually indicates a problem with the Windows operating system's startup process. This error message can be caused by various issues, such as corrupt system files, misconfigured boot settings, or hardware problems. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

1. Perform Automatic Repair

Restart Your PC: If you haven't already, restart your computer. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues.

Automatic Repair: Windows 10 and Windows 11 have built-in tools for automatic repair. Here’s how you can access it:

  • Windows 10: Restart your PC several times during the boot sequence to trigger the Automatic Repair mode. Alternatively, you can use a Windows installation media (USB or DVD) to boot into the Advanced Startup Options and select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
  • Windows 11: If you're using Windows 11, you can access the Automatic Repair mode by booting from a Windows installation USB or DVD. Choose Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

Follow On-screen Instructions: Let Windows attempt to repair startup issues automatically. It will diagnose and fix problems that prevent Windows from loading properly.

2. Use System Restore

  1. System Restore: If your PC was working correctly before this issue started, you can use System Restore to revert your system to a previous point in time:
    • Access the Advanced Startup Options as mentioned in the previous steps.
    • Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore.
    • Follow the prompts to select a restore point where your PC was functioning properly.

3. Check Disk for Errors

  1. Check Disk (CHKDSK): If there are issues with the hard drive's file system, running CHKDSK might help resolve them:
    • Access Command Prompt from the Advanced Startup Options.
    • Type chkdsk /f /r and press Enter. This command will scan and repair disk errors. It may take some time to complete.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
