Pavilion Laptop 15-eg0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My recently bought laptop keeps chiming randomly.
I turned off all the windows system events sounds and app alerts, took off all the devices and it still chimes.
I also ran the HP diagnostics tests, which all passed.

The chiming sounds are difficult to describe - they go like, 'ti-di,' and the rhythm is random, like, ti-di, ti-di.....ti-di-ti-di.....ti-di....tidi-tidi-tidi... Usually, it suddenly starts and doesn't stop until I shut down the PC.
I had the same problem with another HP laptop and desperately need advice.
Thank you so much!

Hi@Haru-AMS, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

We don't think it's an issue battery or charger it might be an issue with the software that needs updates.

Try updating the BIOS and chipset driver on your PC and check if it helps.

1.Updating the BIOS  & Windows updated

You can try updating the drivers using HP support assistant.

Refer to this article to know more information about using HP support assistants.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for your advice.

I checked the BIOS status, which showed it was up-to-date but ran the updates anyway and restarted the PC - to no avail, unfortunately. The PC still keeps chiming. I guess I need to get in touch with the support hotline now.

What I found mysterious is that my two HP notebooks are both experiencing this, and it wouldn't stop even when I took off every cable/ethernet/USB/monitor, etc., connected to them...
