I have the same problem on Windows 8.1.  I followed the steps found here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03737312

There is absolutely nothing in my recovery drive except the Recovery file.  There are no hidden files.  But I only have 2.62 GB free of 23.6 GB and keep getting a message that I have low disk space.    My C: drive has 802 GB free of 906 GB!

Any help you could provide is greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

Hi @SchnauzerLady

This is just to confirm your issue has been solved. We had a background conversation and session and the solution for your issue is :

1) Steps from the article >> https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03737312 which you already performed

2) You currently should have 2.6 GB free disk space

Additionally 3) we tested and disabled the LowDiskSpace alert for Windows Explorer so that Windows Explorer should not bother you with prompts about no free disk space or low disk space alerts. As per the confirmation, this only affects the disk space, not RAM space . Here are details >> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/555622/how-to-remove-the-low-disk-space-warning

You have an option to re-configure back (enable/disable) the warnings option.

Let me know if everything is fine. Please, mark this post as solution if the issue has been resolved.

Thank you for posting. Don't hesitate to post again in the HP forum if you have any questions or issues 🙂

Hello,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum ! Welcome onboard !

There must be something in this partition.

You can use free disk space analyzer software such as the great TreeSize >> http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/

It can tell you which stuff you have on your computer uses the most space.

Run TreeSize view and review what takes most of the HDD capacity on the recovery partition  - run it, expand folders, view their content and you may post/attach a screenshot so that I can check it.

Hi @SchnauzerLady

Can you take few more screenshots, scroll down the software so that I can see everything ?

I see you have 272 files in total on 😧

but on the folder you show there are 103 only

May be if you scroll down you will be able to set them. Preload folder taks 98.7% of all the files

I still haven't been able to fix this problem, and it's really slowing down my computer a lot.  Any ideas?

Hi @SchnauzerLady,

I just checked the notes of your issue and it seems I have sent you a PM back in August which has been read on November, 19th. You have replied back to me on Nov 19th but nothing after that. It seems I have ignored it thinking of it as a SPAM, I receive lots of messages and I have forgotten your case from August. But I remember it now.

I will send you a new private message - please, check it again and reply to the message as soon as you can.
