Hi @Fuad_Abdullah,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it must be to face power issues, especially when you're used to your laptop working seamlessly without being tethered to a power cord. Let's investigate this issue and work toward a solution.
- Have you noticed any changes in the battery's performance recently, such as shorter usage time or unusual charging behavior?
- Does the battery indicator show that the battery is charging properly when the power cord is connected?
- Have you recently updated the BIOS or any power management software, or experienced any unusual shutdowns?
Let's try these steps.
Perform a Battery Health Check:
- Open the HP Support Assistant app and run the Battery Check under Diagnostics.
- If you don't have HP Support Assistant, download it from HP Support.
- Review the battery's health status and follow any recommended actions if the battery shows signs of degradation.
Reset the Embedded Controller (EC):
- Disconnect the power cord and shut down the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord, turn on the laptop, and check if it can start without being plugged in.
Check Windows Power Management Settings:
- Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
- Select your current power plan and click Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
- Expand Battery > Critical battery action and ensure it is set to "Do nothing" or "Hibernate" rather than "Shutdown."
Update the BIOS and Drivers: Click here
- Go to the HP Drivers and Software page for your specific laptop model.
- Download and install the latest BIOS update, chipset drivers, and power management tools.
- Restart your laptop and test battery functionality.
Test the Battery Connection:
- If you're comfortable opening the laptop, ensure the battery connection inside the laptop is secure.
- If not, contact HP Support for assistance in checking or replacing the battery. Your battery might have reached the end of its lifecycle. Or Click here for a battery test.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, it's possible the battery may need replacement or there could be an underlying hardware problem.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
