Hi @Anmol26,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be an issue with either the charger, the charging port on your laptop, or the power settings. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check the Charger and Cable: Ensure that the charger and the charging cable are properly connected to both the laptop and the power outlet. Sometimes loose connections can cause intermittent charging.
Inspect the Charging Port: Make sure that there is no debris or dust inside the charging port of your laptop. Use compressed air to clean it out gently if necessary.
Update Power Settings:
- Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
- Select the power plan you're using and click on Change plan settings.
- Click on Change advanced power settings.
- In the Power Options dialog, expand Battery and AC Adapter sections, and make sure settings like "Maximum processor state" are set appropriately for both "On battery" and "Plugged in" conditions.
Reset Power Management:
- Shut down your laptop.
- Disconnect the charger.
- Remove the laptop battery if it's removable.
- Hold down the power button for about 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reinsert the battery (if removable) and reconnect the charger.
- Start your laptop and check if the charging issue persists.
Check for BIOS and Driver Updates: Sometimes BIOS updates or driver issues can affect charging behavior. Visit the HP support website for your specific model and check for any available updates.
Test with Another Charger (if possible): If you have access to another compatible charger, try using it to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem lies with the charger itself.
These steps should help you diagnose and hopefully resolve the charging issue with your HP Pavilion Gaming 15 laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
