If your Chromebook x360 isn't powering up and the light is flashing amber and white despite being charged for over 24 hours, it suggests a battery or power-related problem. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Perform a Visual Inspection:

  • Check for any physical damage to the charging port or signs of oxidation.
  • Inspect the device for any cracks in the display or other physical damages.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the Chromebook completely.
  • Press and hold the Refresh button, then press the Power button while continuing to hold the Refresh button.
  • Release the Refresh button once the Chromebook powers on.

Battery Indicator Light Status:

  • Amber: The battery is charging.
  • White: The battery is fully charged.
  • If the light is blinking amber, it may indicate a battery error, requiring further inspection.

Verify Battery Charging Status:

  • Ensure the battery isn't in a deep discharge state. Charge the device uninterrupted for a longer period.
  • If the Chromebook doesn’t turn on, periodically press the Power button to check if it's receiving charge.

Test the Battery:

  • Install the HP Support Assistant extension via the Chrome Web Store.
  • Use the HP Support Assistant to run a battery check and diagnose any battery issues.
