My computer freezes for 2-3 seconds every 10 minutes, I can't do anything, even the video I'm watching freezes, I haven't played any games, I just watched videos, the computer hasn't been used much, what is the reason?

Hi @kekillim,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it must be to have your computer freeze like that, especially when you’re just trying to enjoy a video.

Could you please share the exact HP model of your computer and whether you’re using Windows 10 or Windows 11

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

Update drivers: Outdated graphics or chipset drivers can cause short freezes. You can update them via HP Support Assistant or Windows Update.

Check background processes: Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and see if any process spikes in CPU or disk usage when the freeze happens.

Run HP diagnostics: HP laptops and desktops have built-in hardware diagnostics you can run to check memory and storage health.

Scan for malware: Sometimes unwanted software can cause periodic system hangs.

Check storage health: If your hard drive or SSD has issues, it can cause stuttering.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
