Hi @Mystical34,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about  not able to update, don’t worry let me help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • The exact HP laptop model you’re using
  • Any error messages or codes you’ve seen during the update process.
  • Whether the issue occurs with Windows Updates specifically, or with HP Support Assistant updates as well.

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Restart your laptop and attempt the update again. Sometimes a fresh boot clears temporary glitches.
  2. Check your internet connection to ensure it’s stable during the update process.
  3. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
    • Select Windows Update and run the troubleshooter.
  4. Free up disk space: Ensure you have at least 20% free space on your system drive.
  5. Update drivers via HP Support Assistant: Open HP Support Assistant and check for pending driver or BIOS updates.

Also, for us to track your case properly, kindly share the correct Case ID that was emailed to you. It should start with “5.” Please send that Case ID via private message so we can securely access your support record.
