@Macha_1809, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your cursor and touchpad. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Touchpad Settings:
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Devices > Touchpad.
- Ensure the touchpad is enabled.
Update or Reinstall Touchpad Driver:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- Right-click on your touchpad device and select Update driver.
- If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver and then restarting your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Enable Touchpad with Function Key:
- Some HP laptops have a function key (like F5, F6, or F7) to enable/disable the touchpad. Look for a key with a touchpad icon and press it along with the Fn key.
Check for External Mouse:
- If you have an external mouse connected, try disconnecting it to see if the touchpad starts working.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
