Spilling liquid on a laptop is one of the most damaging things you can do -- as the liquid nearly always seeps inside the laptop and if it is not powered off soon enough, shorts out some of the internal circuitry, essentially destroying it.
If it is turned off, then leave it off for a couple of DAYS -- and prop it up on a towel so all the liquid drains out of it. Don't be in a hurry to turn it back on.
You can also try using one of the small cans of compressed air you get from office supply stores, aim it through the vents and try blowing out as much moisture as you can.
Don't try using a hair dryer on it to speed up the drying process as that can easily damage the internals.
If it turns on OK in a couple of days, then it might work right again -- but if there are issues, then your only resort then is to pay a fortune to a laptop repair shop to have then completely disassemble it and visually check for any damage -- which they might not be able to find, after all that.
