Hi @99Andre,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your desktop computer is displaying a "boot device not found" error. This typically suggests that the computer is unable to locate the hard drive or another storage device containing the operating system. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Restore BIOS Default Settings:

  • Turn off the computer and wait for five seconds.

  • Press the power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.

  • On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.

  • Press F10 to Save and Exit.

  • Use the arrow keys to select 'Yes', and then press Enter when asked "Exit Saving Changes?"

  • Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Update the BIOS:

  • An outdated BIOS can sometimes cause issues with drive detection. Ensure your BIOS is up-to-date by checking the latest version from Official HP® Support relevant to your PC model.

Perform a Hard Drive Test with HP Diagnostics:

  • Turn off the computer.

  • Turn it on and immediately press ESC repeatedly. When the menu is displayed, press F2.

  • Click on Symptom Tests in the main menu.

  • Select the Hard Disk/SSD drive issue test and follow the instructions to conduct a test.

Reinstall Windows:

  • If the issue persists, you might need to reinstall Windows through the Windows Recovery Environment (F11) or using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool. Detailed instructions can be found in the HP Recovery document.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
