Hi @KG1966

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

To manually recover the BIOS on an HP computer, you can try these steps:

  • Turn off the computer and connect the AC adapter
  • Press and hold the Windows and B keys at the same time
  • Press the Power button simultaneously
  • After 2–3 seconds, continue to press and hold the Windows and B keys, but release the Power button
  • If the HP BIOS Update screen doesn't appear, repeat the steps but press the Windows and V keys

Additionally perform these steps:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the power adapter and, if possible, remove the battery (if it’s removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery (if removed) and power adapter, then try turning it on

2. Check Power Adapter

  • Ensure that the power adapter is working correctly. Look for any LED indicator on the adapter to see if it’s functioning.
  • Try using a different power outlet or a different compatible power adapter if you have one.

3. Inspect Power Port

  • Check the laptop’s charging port for any debris or damage. Sometimes, dust or a loose connection can prevent charging.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
