Hp envy 360

When I log onto my envy it takes a long time to pull up my home screen. It is at first black and then it finally comes up. When I move my cursor to the bar on the bottom with all my gadgets the cursor turns to a blue loading circle. I’ve reset my computer about 3 times and it is not working, I have Webroot security so I should not have a virus. I’ve only had the computer for a year and I do not over use it or anything like that. Started acting up 3 days ago.

The first thing a technician would suspect is a failing hard drive. Turn the laptop off and then on, immediately tapping the esc key rapidly. At the prompt choose F2 for diagnostics, component test and then storage/hard drive. Run the full test and please report results back here so we can move forward. Are you under warranty still?

My warranty expired just a couple days ago. And I turned it off and back on while pressing the esc key rapidly and nothing popped up.

Turn it off. Turn it on and immediately tap esc key long taps. You have to do it quickly but hold esc down long enough to register. And you cannot have esc depressed when you hit power on.

I turned it off and turned it back on, tapped the esc key and made sure to do it so it could read it. Still can’t get it to pop up.

Then boot into Windows as slow as that is and see if you can run a chkdsk on the hard drive.

You can also set it from Windows 10 to start in BIOS instead of booting Windows:
