My laptop was working just fine but today I noticed it turned off when I thought it was charged already. I turned on again and noticed it is stuck at 2%. I tried some online solutions where I have to hold the power button for 15 seconds and another one where I hold for 30 seconds while holding the f6 as well.

 

Nothing worked. I also tried the hp website checking tool and it shows error Id MEOOW.

 

Any help or recommendation > The batter has 304 cycles.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Let'do a battery test:

  • Make sure the power cord and adapter is connected to the system and wall outlet.
  • Press and hold the power button until the computer turns off completely.
  • Turn on the computer.
  • Immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second, until the UEFI Hardware Diagnostics screen is displayed.
  • In the UEFI Main menu, select Component Tests.
  • In the Power menu, select the battery test.

While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

 

Let's do a BIOS update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

 

and also reinstall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager: 
1) In the search box, type and open “Device Manager”.  

2) Expand “Batteries”.  

3) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.  

4) Click on “Uninstall”.  

5) At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver  

6) Shutdown the computer.  

7) Remove the battery for minute and then put it back in.  

😎 When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.  

9) Go to Device Manager.  

10) Expand Batteries.  

11) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there. 

12) Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"  

Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.

This sounds like hardware related issue with the battery as battery test failed with failure ID.
