Hello! I purchased an hp victus 15 in october 2025. For some reason, my laptop crashes as 3 seconds after i disconnect the charger.  Is there any way to fix this??

Hi @Fb2xxx,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

That sounds really frustrating, especially on a new HP Victus! Crashing immediately after unplugging the charger usually points to a battery or power delivery issue. Here’s what you can do:

1. Check Battery Health

  • In Windows, run: powercfg /batteryreport

This will show battery capacity and health. If it’s near zero or failing, the laptop will shut down when unplugged.

2. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart → Press Esc, then F2.
  • Run Battery Test and AC Adapter Test.
  • If the battery fails, it likely needs replacement under warranty.

3. Update BIOS & Drivers

  • Go to Official HP® Support for Victus 15 and install:
    • Latest BIOS
    • Chipset drivers
    • HP Power Management drivers
  • Outdated firmware can cause power state issues.

4. Check Windows Power Settings

  • Disable Fast Startup
    • Control Panel → Power Options → Choose what power buttons do → Uncheck “Turn on fast startup.”
  • Reset the power plan to Balanced.

5. Inspect Charger & Battery Connection

  • Ensure the battery is properly seated (if removable).
  • If internal, a loose connector can cause an instant shutdown when unplugged.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
