Hi @B140XTT01,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing this issue! A flickering power/start button and failure to power on on an HP Victus laptop usually indicates a hardware-level fault, often related to:

  • Battery or power adapter failure
  • Motherboard or power circuit issue
  • BIOS corruption or CMOS error

Here’s the troubleshooting path:

Step 1: Hard Reset

  1. Disconnect the power adapter and remove any external devices.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  3. Plug the adapter back in and try powering on.

Step 2: Check AC Adapter and Battery

  • Ensure the charging light turns white or amber when plugged in.
  • If blinking red or orange, the battery or adapter may be faulty.

Step 3: Perform RTC Reset

  • Disconnect the battery (if removable) and AC adapter.
  • Hold the power button for 30–45 seconds.
  • Reconnect and try again.

Step 4: BIOS Recovery

  • Plug in the AC adapter.
  • Press and hold Windows + B + Power for 2–3 seconds.
  • If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the prompts.

Step 5: Check Blink Codes

  • If Caps Lock or the power LED blinks in a pattern, note the sequence.
  • Refer to the HP blink code chart:
