So yesterday I went on YouTube looking for aimbots on fortnite and found a video with it and downloaded the file and people put in comments its a rootkit and I downloaded it and extracted the file and it shutdown my pc and now won't boot up and shows a blue screen on startup but can't see anything because my screen is cracked and I need help to see if someone can tell me which keys to press to reset my laptop or repair it and get rid of the rootkit

This is the youtube video I got the aimbot from: https://youtu.be/xG7Y8H3MZyw

And here's the file link: https://dropbbase.com/download/50704579017b29243f1c51a6b38477e2.html

I'm not sure what you're telling us -- but is it that you tried to HACK Fortnite (to avoid paying for it?), and that hack introduced a rootkit into your PC, and you now want our help on fixing that?

The hack is aimbot so the crosshair locks onto the players heads and get easy kills and when I installed the hack from a youtuber in his description people in the comments said it was a rootkit and I didn't care and I downloaded it and now I think I got hacked.

So, you ignored clear warnings and installed some software you suspected contained malware, anyway?

There is no simple way to clear rootkits; if there was, the malware writers wouldn't waste their time on them.

You brought this on yourself, and the only guaranteed way out of this is to force a full factory reset on the PC -- which will erase EVERYTHING from the drive, recreate the original parititions and repopulate them.

To do this, reboot the PC, pressing F11 repeatedly, and when the HP Recovery Manager starts up, select the option to do a reset of the PC.

This can take 2-3 hours once started, so you have to be patient.

IF it works, when done, you will be put back into the original setup procedure.

LESSON LEARNED: DON'T HACK FORTNITE.

Why were you hacking Fortnite in the first place

Hmm maybe because my laptop is slow and only get 10fps on the game and it's hard for me to aim with the assault rifles

Have you tried playing on low settings and changing the resolution?
