I feel like I was given faulty laptop because this unit is very is fairly new and I haven’t done any damages at all to it. It has problems when it is to be powered on and the screen keeps running. I’m so no not happy with this notebook. It is a hp x2 pavilion detachable

@Pinkey1 Welcome to HP Community!

I suggest you follow the below steps to refresh the settings and to resolve the issue:

  1. Remove the keyboard.
  2. Shut down the computer
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. The time is important, make sure you keep the power button pressed for at least 30 continuous seconds. During this time, you may see the HP logo flash on the screen one time - ignore this and keep the button pressed.
  4. After at least 30 seconds let go of the power button and reattach the keyboard
  5. Power on the computer

These steps are known as "system drain" and its supposed to drain the motherboard of all power so that all the circuits reset and then when you power back up it has to reinitialize in some way.

If the issue persists, check with an alternate/external keyboard and see if that works via the USB.
