Hi @San_Kul,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Pavilion G6 laptop’s operating system has crashed, and you need to reinstall Windows to get it working again. Let’s go through a few steps to get it back up and running.

1. Determine the Suitable Windows Version

For your HP Pavilion G6, Windows 10 (64-bit) is recommended for better balance between features and compatibility.

If Windows 10 isn’t stable, you can fallback to Windows 8.1 (64-bit) or Windows 7 (64-bit).

Windows 11 is not officially supported on this older model due to CPU and hardware limitations.

2. Purchase a Genuine Windows License

Buy from authorized sellers like Microsoft Store, Flipkart, Amazon India, or local computer stores.

Avoid extremely cheap keys from unverified sellers.

You will receive a digital license / product key for installation.

3. Prepare Installation Media

On a working PC, download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from Microsoft.

Create a bootable USB rive using the tool.

4. Backup Data (if accessible)

If your hard drive is still readable, copy any important files to an external drive before reinstalling.

5. Boot from USB

Insert the bootable USB into your HP Pavilion G6.

Power on and press Esc, F10, or F2 to enter BIOS/Boot Menu.

Set USB drive as the first boot device and save changes.

6. Install Windows

Boot from the USB and choose Custom / Clean Install.

Format the system partition and proceed with installation.

7. Install Drivers

After Windows installation, go to HP Support and download drivers specific to your G6 model.

For missing drivers, try compatibility mode or older drivers from Windows 8.1 / 7 if needed.

8. Activate Windows

Enter the product key you purchased during or after installation.

Run Windows Update to ensure your system is fully updated.

9. Verify Hardware Functionality

Check Device Manager for any missing drivers or unknown devices.

Test Wi-Fi, audio, display, and other peripherals to confirm everything works.

I hope this helps.
