Hi @SandySarvagna

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that. When the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool is outdated, it can prevent proper system access and interfere with recovery or boot processes. T

o resolve this, you’ll need to update the diagnostics utility manually using a USB drive.

How to Update HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

Step 1: Download the Latest Version

Visit the official HP support page:
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI – Download Page

Scroll to “Diagnose PC Hardware Issues outside of the OS” and download the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

Step 2: Create a USB Diagnostics Drive

  1. Insert a blank USB flash drive (at least 2GB)
  2. Run the downloaded installer
  3. Choose Create a bootable USB drive
  4. Follow the prompts to complete setup

Step 3: Boot into Diagnostics

  1. Power off your laptop
  2. Insert the USB diagnostics drive
  3. Power on and immediately press F2 repeatedly
  4. The system should boot into the updated diagnostics environment

Step 4: Run Full Hardware Tests

Once inside the diagnostics tool:

  • Run System Tests and Component Tests
  • Pay close attention to storage and memory results

If the system still doesn’t boot properly after updating diagnostics, let me know what error appears next. I’ll guide you through the next recovery steps.

You're making solid progress—just a few steps away from resolution.
