Thanks for sharing that. When the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool is outdated, it can prevent proper system access and interfere with recovery or boot processes. T
o resolve this, you’ll need to update the diagnostics utility manually using a USB drive.
How to Update HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI
Step 1: Download the Latest Version
Visit the official HP support page:
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI – Download Page
Scroll to “Diagnose PC Hardware Issues outside of the OS” and download the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
Step 2: Create a USB Diagnostics Drive
- Insert a blank USB flash drive (at least 2GB)
- Run the downloaded installer
- Choose Create a bootable USB drive
- Follow the prompts to complete setup
Step 3: Boot into Diagnostics
- Power off your laptop
- Insert the USB diagnostics drive
- Power on and immediately press F2 repeatedly
- The system should boot into the updated diagnostics environment
Step 4: Run Full Hardware Tests
Once inside the diagnostics tool:
- Run System Tests and Component Tests
- Pay close attention to storage and memory results
