HP Pavilion
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Over the past year or so, I've noticed that my computer doesn't start as usual after a Windows 10 update.  For example, it updated last night, and when I turned the computer on today, the power button lit up as usual, the computer started making its normal whirring noise (signaling to me that it was in fact on), and the screen lit up a bit.  The HP logo showed on the screen, and then the screen went black.  It remained like this - on, the screen black - without doing anything else.  I turned off the computer, waited a few seconds, and turned it back on, only to get the same result.  I did this about three or four times before the computer finally restarted as normal - and it had to update again.  The whole process probably took about twenty to thirty minutes.  I'm confused as to why this happens when my computer updates and what I can do to avoid all of that.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Restart your computer. Whatever problem the update(s) caused could clear itself up with a simple power off and power on method.

To get the answer to this question, due to a software driver corruption system or incomplete updates might cause this issue.

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
