Hi @MG_11,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Laptop 15s-fq2020ni is stuck in Recovery Mode and needs to be repaired. Let’s go through a few steps you can try to get it working again.

Note the Error Message

On the recovery screen, check if there’s a specific error code (like 0xc0000225 or similar).

This helps identify whether it’s a boot, file system, or hardware issue.

Perform a Hard Restart

Hold down the Power button until the laptop shuts off.

Disconnect charger and external devices (USBs, printers, etc.).

Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to drain any residual power.

Reconnect only the charger and try starting again.

Use Startup Repair

On the Recovery screen, select Advanced options > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

Windows will attempt to fix boot-related problems automatically.

Run System Restore (if available)

Go to Advanced options > System Restore.

Choose a restore point (date when your laptop was working fine).

Follow the prompts to roll back system changes.

Check for Corrupted Boot Files

Select Advanced options > Command Prompt.

Type the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:

bootrec /fixmbr

bootrec /fixboot

bootrec /scanos

bootrec /rebuildbcd

Restart your laptop after running the commands.

Try Safe Mode

In Advanced options > Startup Settings, choose Restart.

Press F4 (Enable Safe Mode) or F5 (Enable Safe Mode with Networking).

If it boots, you can back up your files and uninstall recent updates or drivers.

Reset the PC

If repairs don’t work, go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.

Choose Keep my files (removes apps but keeps personal files) or Remove everything (factory reset).

This reinstalls Windows to fix software corruption.

I hope this helps.
