@Raghuram27, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary issues that cause the system to hang.

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your operating system is up to date with the latest patches.

Update Drivers: Make sure all your drivers, especially for the graphics, are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager or by visiting the HP Support website and downloading the latest drivers for your model.

Check Task Manager: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. Check if any application is consuming a high amount of resources. If so, try closing the application to see if it resolves the issue.

Run HP Support Assistant: Use the pre-installed HP Support Assistant to check for updates and run diagnostics on your laptop to identify any potential hardware issues.

Scan for Malware: Run a full system scan using Windows Defender or your preferred antivirus software to ensure no malware is causing the slowdown.

Check Storage Space: Ensure you have adequate free space on your hard drive. If your storage is nearly full, it could cause performance issues.

Perform System Restore: If the issue started after installing new software or updates, try restoring your system to an earlier point when the laptop was working fine.

Perform System Diagnostics: Use the built-in diagnostics tool in BIOS to perform a complete system diagnostic to rule out hardware issues.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
