Hi @adam9388,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop is displaying the screen but is unresponsive, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to see if they help resolve the issue:
Force Restart:
- Press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds until the laptop powers off.
- After that, turn it back on and see if it responds.
Disconnect External Devices:
- If you have any external devices (USB drives, external hard disks, printers, etc.) connected, disconnect them and see if the laptop responds.
Safe Mode:
- Boot the laptop into Safe Mode to see if it responds. Safe Mode loads only essential drivers and may help identify if a third-party software or driver is causing the issue.
POWER DRAIN:
- Please Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer from the wall socket.
while the computer is ON, hold the power button down and wait for the computer to shut down and still hold the power button down
Please reconnect the charging cable and try to turn on the laptop. - CBR:
Press the windows key and then follow the key "B" and then the power button for around 3-4 seconds, release the power button and continue to hold windows+V for 3-4 seconds, you may not receive a response from the computer, Please let me know what happens. - CMOS:
