@19740, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
First,
Did you recently install or uninstall anything?
Was there a Windows update, or BIOS/UEFI change?
Check BIOS/UEFI Settings
Restart your laptop.
As soon as it powers on, press the Esc key repeatedly.
In BIOS/UEFI:
Go to the Boot tab.
Make sure the hard disk/SSD is recognized.
Check that the boot order has your internal drive listed first.
Make sure Secure Boot is either enabled or disabled (try both if you're troubleshooting).
Save and exit (F10 usually).
If the hard disk is not listed, it may be physically disconnected or has failed.
Run Diagnostics
Restart and press Esc > F2 to run diagnostics.
Run a hard drive test.
Let me know how it goes.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
