Hi @Mal_RX,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your laptop is stuck in recovery mode, it’s often due to a failed update or insufficient disk space. Here’s how to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

1. Access Advanced Options

  • In recovery mode, select Troubleshoot.
  • Go to Advanced options.

2. Free Up Disk Space

To free up space, you may need to use the Command Prompt:

  • Select Command Prompt from the Advanced options.
  • Type the following commands to navigate to your drive and delete unnecessary files (replace C: with your Windows drive if different):
  • Then:
  • Use the del command to delete specific files, or consider using Disk Cleanup if available.

3. System Restore

If you have a restore point:

  • Go back to Advanced options.
  • Select System Restore and follow the prompts to restore to a previous state.

4. Startup Repair

  • From the Advanced options menu, select Startup Repair. This may fix issues preventing Windows from booting normally.

5. Reset this PC

If you don’t mind losing some data:

  • In the Troubleshoot menu, select Reset this PC. You can choose to keep or remove files, but removing files is likely to free up space.

6. Reinstall Windows

If nothing else works:

  • In the Advanced options, you can use the Reinstall Windows option if available, or create a bootable USB with Windows 11 installation media from another computer.

7. Check Disk for Errors

  • If you can access the Command Prompt, you can run a disk check:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
