Hi @Jas-on123_,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP 14 Inch Laptop PC is stuck on the "Automatic Repair" screen, it usually indicates a problem with the boot process. Here are several steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Power off your laptop.
  • Disconnect any peripheral devices (like USB drives, printers, etc.).
  • Unplug the power cord and remove the battery if it's removable.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power cord, then turn on the laptop.

Boot into Safe Mode

  • Restart your laptop and immediately press the F8 or Shift + F8 keys repeatedly until you see the "Advanced Boot Options" menu.
  • Select "Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode with Networking".
  • If it boots successfully into Safe Mode, you can try to uninstall recent updates or drivers that might have caused the issue.

Use Startup Repair

  • Restart the laptop and press F11 (or Esc and then F11) to enter the HP Recovery Manager.
  • Select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Repair".
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to allow Windows to attempt repairs.

Run System File Checker (SFC) and DISM

  • If you can boot into Safe Mode or the Command Prompt from the Advanced options:
    • Open the Command Prompt.
    • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. Wait for the scan to complete.
    • After that, type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter.

Perform a System Restore

  • From the Advanced options menu, select "System Restore".
  • Choose a restore point dated before the problem began.
  • Follow the instructions to restore your system to a previous state.

Reset Your PC

  • From the Advanced options menu, select "Troubleshoot" > "Reset this PC".
  • You can choose to keep your files or remove everything, depending on what you prefer.
  • Follow the prompts to reset the system.

Reinstall Windows

If none of the above methods work, you may need to perform a clean installation of Windows:

  • Create a bootable Windows USB drive using another computer.
  • Insert the USB drive into your laptop and restart it.
  • Press F9 (or the appropriate key for your model) to enter the boot menu and boot from the USB drive.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall Windows.

Check for Hardware Issues

If the problem persists, there might be a hardware issue:

  • Run HP’s hardware diagnostics (usually accessible by pressing F2 during startup).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
