HP Laptop 15-ra0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Ever since upgrading to the latest windows. I have been having issues with my battery. The first issue is that when I plug in my laptop to be charged, every time it reaches a certain percentage, it will indicate that it is full but the moment it decreases from the percentage it will charge again (all the way to a100%). This also happens when the laptop is not in use but is left charging.

The second issue is that my laptop shuts down with a blipping sound even when it still has some battery power to it and won't go on unless plugged. Which in this case comes back with about 20% battery power.

I have tried performing the battery diagnosis and the results indicate that the battery is okay and there is nothing wrong with it. Though when it comes back on, a screen comes up saying the battery might need to be replaced.

Thank you in advance

Welcome to HP Community

If the Notebook is more than 2 - 3 Yrs old then it's likely the battery is going weak and needs to be replaced

Let's try these steps

Please reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and check if that helps

Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook
Step 06. Remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter ( For Notebooks with Removable Batteries )
Step 07. Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter and restart

Next update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Let me know how it goes 😊
