Hi @LoreanaEst,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that the computer randomly fails to start and repeatedly displays a blue screen.

From the picture you shared, the stop code appears to be ACPI_BIOS_ERROR.

Let's try restoring the BIOS settings first:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait about 5 seconds.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  3. Press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
  4. Look for Apply Defaults and Exit, or the option to restore the BIOS settings to their defaults.
  5. Save the changes and allow the computer to restart.

If Windows still does not start correctly, the next step can be BIOS Recovery. HP provides BIOS recovery procedures for systems where BIOS corruption prevents Windows from starting.

Before performing a manual BIOS recovery, however, please share the exact HP computer model or product number. The BIOS recovery method depends on the HP computer, and computers equipped with HP Sure Start do not support the Windows + B manual BIOS recovery method because Sure Start handles BIOS/firmware recovery differently.

For reference: HP Notebook PCs - Recovering the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) | HP® Support

Please let us know the exact HP model/product number and whether you can get into the F10 BIOS Setup Utility, and we can guide you with the appropriate BIOS recovery method.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
