Hi @Xayush,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message indicating that a cooling fan is not operating correctly is important to address promptly to prevent potential damage to your laptop due to overheating. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue.

Immediate Steps

  1. Turn Off Your Laptop: To avoid any damage, turn off your laptop immediately.
  2. Check for Blockages: Ensure that the vents and fans are not blocked by dust or debris. Use compressed air to clean the vents gently.
  3. Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can reset the fan control system.

Further Steps

Enter BIOS/UEFI:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing the appropriate key (often F2, F10, ESC, or DEL) during startup.
  • Check if there's a hardware diagnostics tool in the BIOS/UEFI that can provide more details about the fan issue.

Update BIOS/UEFI:

  • Ensure your BIOS/UEFI is up to date by visiting the HP support website and downloading the latest version for your laptop model.

Perform a System Diagnostic:

  • HP laptops often have built-in diagnostics tools. Restart your laptop and press F2 or ESC during startup to access the diagnostic tools and run a hardware test.

Note:

Ignoring the cooling fan issue can lead to severe overheating, potentially damaging internal components and causing data loss. Addressing the problem promptly is crucial for the longevity of your laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
