Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop will not start up. Originally it said that my pin was wrong ...but that is not right and now it says there is a problem with the battery but it is plugged into mains power. I can't proceed with suggested solutions because it wont open up. I am having this conversation from my husbands computer. What can I do. Google tells me it is a Microsoft problem ???
