Hi @5Aniyah,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP laptop is experiencing a critical issue, potentially related to system errors or corrupt files. If you're seeing a blue screen and want to reset the system for a fresh start, here's how you can perform a factory reset to set up your laptop like it's brand new.
Steps to Factory Reset Your HP Laptop:
Turn off the laptop completely.
Start in Recovery Mode:
- Turn on your laptop and immediately start pressing the F11 key repeatedly.
- This should bring up the Recovery Manager or Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
Choose the "Troubleshoot" Option:
- When you see the menu, select Troubleshoot.
- Then, choose Reset this PC.
Choose How You Want to Reset:
- You'll have two options:
- Keep my files: This will remove apps and settings but keep your personal files.
- Remove everything: This will completely wipe your system and reinstall Windows.
Clean the Drive:
- Choose Fully clean the drive if you want to erase everything, including old data (recommended for a complete refresh).
- If you plan to keep the laptop and just want a clean slate, you can choose Just remove my files for a quicker reset.
Reinstall Windows:
- The laptop will restart and begin the reset process. Follow the prompts to reinstall Windows.
- Once complete, you’ll be prompted to set up the laptop with new usernames, passwords, and preferences.
After the reset, your laptop should function as if it's brand new, and you won't see the blue screen unless there's an underlying hardware issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
