@GeorgePat, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue where your mouse cursor keeps getting larger on its own, even after changing the settings. Let's work through this together.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting for Cursor Size Issue on Windows 11

This issue is often related to accessibility settings, display scaling, or graphics driver behavior. Here's how to resolve it:

Check Mouse Pointer Settings

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to Accessibility > Mouse pointer and touch.
  3. Under Mouse pointer style, ensure the size is set to your preference.
  4. Close the settings and observe if the issue persists.

Disable Touchpad Gestures (if using a laptop)

Some HP laptops have gestures that can unintentionally change cursor size.

  1. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad.
  2. Scroll to Gestures & interaction.
  3. Disable or adjust Pinch to zoom or similar gestures.

Check Display Scaling

  1. Go to Settings > System > Display.
  2. Under Scale & layout, ensure Scale is set to 100% or your recommended value.
  3. Sometimes, high scaling can cause cursor size to appear larger than expected.

Update Graphics Drivers

Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display anomalies.

  1. Open Device Manager (right-click Start > Device Manager).
  2. Expand Display adapters.
  3. Right-click your graphics card and select Update driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts

Some third-party customization or accessibility tools may override system settings. Try disabling or uninstalling any such software temporarily to test.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
