HP Laptop PC 17-by4000 (18B36AV)

Hello, I purchased my new HP laptop in March of last year, I created an email address and password/pin, looked at the screen, turned it off and came back some days later and the system would not accept any password or pin that I entered. At first, I couldn’t remember the password or pin but nevertheless, after looking at my notes, it doesn’t accept anything.

In all of this time, no matter how many months I allow the laptop to simply sit (because I can’t get on it of course) when I do come back to it to try to login, as soon as it comes on, it says, that I have attempted too many times to enter the password or pin and that I have to wait a couple of minutes.

it is now September 2022 and it is STILL saying this! It’s as if I’ve paid almost $700.00 for NOTHING because I have not been able to do ANYTHING on this laptop besides create an email/userid.

Btw, when I try to follow Microsoft’s online instructions for resetting the password that does not help. PLEASE HELP ME! I do not want to have to pay an enormous amount (losing yet more money) for something so simple. - PLEEAASSEE HELP ME!!!!! - I would be so grateful.
