@Ayaan37, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Random Typing and Volume Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Your notebook is experiencing random typing issues and various keyboard malfunctions, including the activation of the Shift key and volume getting muted. Here are steps to troubleshoot these problems:
Clean the Keyboard:
- Dust or debris under the keys can cause erratic behavior.
- Use compressed air to gently clean the keys, especially those involved in the issue (z, x, c, t, y, etc.).
Check for Stuck Keys:
- Press each key to ensure none are stuck.
- If keys feel sticky or do not revert easily, this might be causing the problem.
Update Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupt drivers can lead to malfunction.
- Visit the HP Support Page and update your keyboard and touchpad drivers: HP Drivers and Software
Windows Troubleshooter:
- Run the Windows Keyboard Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Keyboard.
Check Language Settings:
- Incorrect language settings can cause typing issues.
- Ensure your keyboard language is set correctly:
- Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language > Keyboard.
Reset Keyboard Settings:
- Sometimes resetting can fix the issue.
- Go to Settings > Devices > Typing > Advanced keyboard settings and reset.
Test in Safe Mode:
- Boot your notebook in Safe Mode to see if the problem persists.
- If not, an external application might be causing the issue.
Disconnect External Devices:
- Certain peripherals can cause conflicts.
- Disconnect all external devices like USB keyboards or mice.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
