Hi @ABHIN_______AV

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The yellow warning with error code 24 on your Synaptics SMBus Touchpad means the driver is either corrupted or not loading correctly. A clean reinstall using the correct driver for your HP Laptop 15-da0xxx should restore full touchpad functionality.

Thank you for explaining the issue so clearly—it’s incredibly frustrating to lose touchpad control, especially after trying multiple solutions.

Let’s walk through a focused, reliable fix to get your touchpad working again.

Step 1: Uninstall the Faulty Driver

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  3. Right-click Synaptics SMBus Touchpad and choose Uninstall device.
  4. Check Delete the driver software for this device, then click Uninstall.
  5. Restart your laptop.

Step 2: Download and Install the Correct Driver

Use HP’s official driver for your model and Windows 10 version.

  • Go to: HP Laptop 15-da0000 Series Drivers
  • Select Windows 10 (64-bit).
  • Scroll to Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices.
  • Download Synaptics Touchpad Driver (usually version 19.x or higher).
  • Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Restart your laptop after installation.

Step 3: Confirm Driver Installation

  1. Open Device Manager again.
  2. Under Mice and other pointing devices, confirm that Synaptics SMBus Touchpad appears without a warning icon.
  3. Test touchpad responsiveness and gestures.

Step 4: Run HP Diagnostics

To verify hardware status:

  • Visit: HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
  • Scroll to “Installing HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI to a USB device” if needed.
  • Follow the steps to run a touchpad test.

If the touchpad still doesn’t respond after reinstalling the driver, the issue may be tied to a deeper system conflict or hardware-level fault.

You’ve already shown great persistence—this clean install should give your touchpad the fresh start it needs. Let me know how it responds after these steps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
