@Dudyone, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your wife forgot the password to her HP Split x2, here are a few steps you can try to regain access:

Reset the Password via Account Settings

  1. Use Another Computer or Device: Use another computer or device to access the Microsoft account that is associated with the device.
  2. Reset Password: Visit the Microsoft account sign-in page and follow the instructions to reset the password.

Utilize the Password Reset Disk

If a password reset disk was created previously:

  1. Boot into Windows: Start the computer and wait until it gets to the login screen.
  2. Insert the Password Reset Disk: Insert the password reset disk or USB drive.
  3. Follow the Reset Instructions: Follow the prompts to reset the password.

Use HP Recovery Manager

If neither of the above methods is feasible:

  1. Access HP Recovery Manager: Turn off the computer completely, then turn it back on and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until HP Recovery Manager opens.
  2. Perform a System Reset (if necessary): Proceed with the system recovery options. Note that this may restore the computer to factory settings and may result in data loss.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
