HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation IDS Base Model

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to use the HP Cloud Recovery Client to make a recovery USB for my ZBook 15 G5, but it's not detecting my SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 256GB. The drive works fine in Windows, shows up in File Explorer, and even boots fine when I use tools like Rufus — but the HP Cloud Recovery Client just refuses to detect it.

I've already tried cleaning and formatting with Diskpart, changing ports, and using NTFS, but nothing works.

So I need help:

Can anyone tell me which USB flash drives 100% work with the HP Cloud Recovery Client?

I'm fine buying a new one, just want to make sure it works this time.

I have shortlisted some HP USB Drives :

HP x796w 64GB USB 3.2 Flash Drive

HP 818w 32GB USB 3.2 Flash Drive Silver Metal

HP 712w 64GB USB 3.2 Flash Drive- Black

Thanks!

Hi, @venom_123

You only need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create a recovery drive with.

I have had great success using PNY flash drives for both the consumer and business class versions of the HP cloud recovery software:

PNY USB 2.0 Flash Drive/Pen Drive 32GB - Attaché 4 : Amazon.in: Electronics

Less than $5 USD.
