I have been using the native Calendar app on my HP laptop forever. Today, when I opened it, absolutely everything was gone. Is there a way to recover that?

Hi @spencervillinsk,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Losing data in your calendar app can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can try to recover your calendar events.

  • Check your account settings: Sometimes, calendar data is linked to a specific email account. Open the Calendar app settings and ensure that all your connected accounts (e.g., Outlook, Gmail) are still signed in. If any accounts were disconnected, reconnecting them might bring back your calendar events.
  • Sync settings: Go to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts and confirm that your email accounts are set to sync with the calendar. Make sure sync settings are turned on for each account in Settings > Accounts > Sync your settings.
  • Restore from a backup: If you use Windows’ File History or a similar backup solution, you may be able to restore a backup of your calendar data. Open Settings > Update & Security > Backup to see if there’s a recent backup you can use to restore lost data.
  • Check for app updates: Go to the Microsoft Store and check for updates for the Calendar app. An update could fix any glitches that caused your data to disappear.
  • Reinstall the Calendar app: As a last resort, you can uninstall and reinstall the Calendar app. This can sometimes help fix sync issues. To do this, go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, find the Calendar app, and choose Uninstall. After that, reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.

If your calendar is synced with a specific online service (like Google Calendar or Outlook), you can also try accessing your calendar directly through their website to check if your events are still there.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
