15aq002ng

Dear HP-Team

I have purchased a HP Envy x360 15-aq002ng on eBay.

The owner didnt updated BIOS since she purchased the laptop in 2016.

And due to a new ssd of an Lenovo Idea Center I had also Win10 1903.

This combination or just the old BIOS-Version is the reaoson why the laptop fans stays calm and silent while the CPU works with max 2,75 Ghz. The temperatures of the main components were 40-50 degree, while I updated the old laptop.

After I updated the BIOS to f.58 and Win10 to 22h2 the horror began.

The fan is active. 99% of the last 4hrs this **bleep**ing fan is active now.

So, I need the old BIOS-Version urgently, because without I only can install fancontrol and this is sumthin I dont want to do, because the new owner should get a good xp and feeling for HP products.

Can you give me the old BIOS-Version pls?

Or does a tool exist where you can do HP downgrades??

Sometimes I think Cool Sense is the answer of this fan issue HP developers were not able to fix. 😕 And this is sad, because I like HP and I pay 400€ more than others to have a good Laptop.

But if this issue is with every updated or/and new HP-Laptop, I will buy a laptop from an other brand in future and this is nothing I want to do 😕

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is no F.06 BIOS version available to download.

Below is the link to the latest BIOS update for your notebook (F.60)

Driver - HP ENVY x360 - 15-aq002ng (ENERGY STAR) | HP® Customer Support

If you click to expand the Revision History section, you will find many of the previous BIOS updates going all the way back to the initial BIOS release of F.03, but there is no F.06.

The download links to the older BIOS update files are further down the page.

Hey Mr. Tikkanen

Thank you for your answer.

Ok, I ever thought "Expert" is a rank in the HP-support-hierarchy or sumthin like that.

Am I allowed to buy you coffee? 😍 Because you take care of us like a father XD

Oh, I see, then I confounded it.

Ok, then I have to use an other BIOS-Version.

Do I have to do the rollback step for step? Or can I jump back like a jumped forward?

And I would have an other question, hopefully you have an answer for:

Yesterday, I followed instructions of an official representative of HP, wich posted in the forum as answer of a rollback question.

So, I tried to initialize a rollback "Win+B and power-button" etc.

The laptop was active, but only a black screen was the result and a blue glowing LED

Also after shutting down and starting the laptop again, and again and again.

Then I disconnected all hardware items. Nothing changes positively.

Then I did a first CMOS-Reset.

That "works"

The laptop started again, but I had 2 screen errors and a "kmode-blue-screen" and it seems the whole system works slower. So I did a system reset.

But the blue glowing LED was still there.

So I did a 2nd CMOS-Reset.

And this went semi-wrong, because the cmos-blablabla-confirmation was invalid.

So I guess the system resets itself.

Now the system is ok, I guess, and the OS works again, but

But the little LED, which glowes blue, is still there.

How can I fix that? Does a rollback fix it? Is it an hardware issue? Because all works, except that the white glowing led is a blue. Or is it a motherboard issue, because the "rollback-initializing" process which started by pressing WIN+B and Power-Button can't be finished/brough to an end?

Sincerely

Jogi

You're very welcome, Jogi.

When I read all of the previous BIOS' version release notes, I don't see any of them that indicate 'you cannot roll back to a previous version' message, so you should be able to install any of the previous versions you want.

So, if you can get into Windows, you should be able to run the BIOS file you want from Windows.

As far as those crazy things that are happening, unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions for you.

I am not an expert on solving problems with BIOS updates.

I've had one or two go wrong on me and I ended up scrapping the PC's.
