The Battery Check feature in HP Support Assistant stopped working in both of my HP Laptops, same model as this, one with Windows 7 and the other with Windows 10. I uninstalled HP Support Assistant from my Windows 7 Laptop, thinking I could reinstall it. The only download version available is for Windows 10. Is there another way to get the Windows 7 version from HP's ftp site or elsewhere? OUgrad

Good news! The Legacy Version I found above fixes the Battery Check BUG. Thanks Paul for helping me dig deeper.

The following comment is for HP. I hope they read it. OUgrad

The current version of HP Support Assistant for Windows 7 (8.8.34.31) will not update on both Windows 7 and Windows 10 PCs. When I click "Check for latest version", it says "A server connectivity issue has been detected". The update (8.8.34.31 REV: A PASS: 1) must be downloaded from your website and is VERY hard to find. Battery check does not work without REV: A PASS: 1.

Hi:

There is a HP battery check utility for W7...

This package contains the HP Battery Check tool for the supported notebook models and operating systems. HP Battery Check is a utility that can be used to verify the functionality of the primary and secondary batteries installed in HP Notebook PCs. The battery test results indicate whether the battery should be replaced or calibrated. Information about battery usage is also provided.

I have a version of the HPSA software that should work on W7 and W8.

I have zipped it, uploaded the file to my Skydrive folder and shared the link with you below.

Download, unzip and run the file labeled sp58915.zip

Here is the info link about the file, which is the only item HP has left on the FTP site.

The exe file has been removed.

Thanks Paul. I have your download - Version 7.0.39.15 REV: A. My problem Version is 8.8.34.31 available from a recent Ghost 15 Image Backup.  I always used the internal program update feature to get new versions. When I click "Check for latest version", it says "A server connectivity issue has been detected" and only links to the Windows 10 version which I will use comparability mode to attempt install. The battery check reports "Non-HP Battery Detected" which is false and "Charged (100%)" with no test results. I'll try your older version if the Win10 version fails and report back. It's too bad that HP has removed so much from their ftp site. OUgrad

EDIT - I installed the current Win10 version of HP Support Assistant on my Win10 PC reported above and Battery Check works.

I just noticed a legacy version link (VERSION: 8.8.34.31 REV: A PASS: 1) at the WIn10 download page here.

Here's the legacy link.

I'll try it first and report back. OUgrad
