HP 15 bs244wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I contacted HP support to obtain recovery media, The agent said he would send it, Well HP cancelled the order. I tried to go BUY it, said I can't. How in the heck can you not order recovery media only 8 months into a PC? It's not like I'm gonna have issues when new. This is unreasonable system. I know I can download win 10 and install drivers manually, but I want to recover like from factory. Something deleted my recovery partition, I didn't delete, as I know what it is. How do I owning a HP notebook UNDER WARRANTY get my hands on recovery media?

Hi:

There is a new recovery tool by the name of the HP cloud recovery client, that is supposed to restore the PC to its factory settings.

Here is a link for how to use the utility...

According to the support matrix at the link below, your notebook is supported by this utility.

Since this is a peer to peer forum, and I don't work for or represent HP, if my suggestion isn't to your liking, or the utility doesn't work for you for some reason, I suggest you contact the HP executive team at the link below...

Hi Paul, does that restore the recovery partition via usb? just recover the notebook and stores the recovery partition permanently on usb?? I'm an old timer and HATE all this cloud stuff, I believe in old fashioned physical media.

Hi:

Unfortunately, I don't know if the utility will restore both the operating system the way it came from HP plus the recovery image, or just the OS/drivers/software the way it came from HP.

None of the HP PC's I own are supported by that utility.

This utility will have you create physical recovery media.

Since the utility requires a 32 GB USB flash drive, it may restore both the OS and recovery partition.

One of the illustrations shown on that info link I posted stated it will restore the hard drive(s) to their original factory settings.
