Hi, Jan:
According to the information I could find, your notebook has the Realtek audio chip.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to install the W10 Realtek audio driver directly from the Realtek website at the link below.
You want the second file on the list.

Yeah, thx for the hint, but i'm already downloading that one (and hoping it would fix the issue) ^^...
But their driver storage has terrible connectivity (like 40KB/s max), during last hour only 65MB downloaded...

Hey
The download finally finished, so i ran the pack (it verified, installation ran as it should (i think), rebooted pc) and... sadly still "no output device installed" on the system "speaker" icon (and ofc the "repair wizzard" that launches when i click it cannot find any sollution). There was no error msg during or after (or after reboot).
And under the device manager there's still no audio output device (there should be smth like sound drivers and input / output entries in the manager list but there's nothing (sorry, cannot quote precisely, my system is localized into my native language).
Tbh i have no idea where to look next now..
There are 5 devices that with driver issues in the hardware list: 4 unknown devices and 1 multimedia adapter. The last one cannot be fixed by "update" feature.
The only way i see now is try to id those devices somehow (by pci slot # or w/e cryptic info i can see about it)... and if all fails i could in theory install a realtek driver on one and see what happens... Or do you have any better idea?
It's weird that i have no audio i/o entries in hardware manager but i'm not sure if there would be any with unknown sound card on motherboard (that itself sounds weird tbh).
(attached a picture of the hw man list, ignore the gibberish called czech language 🙂 )

Hi:
Sorry that driver didn't work.
There's only one thing left that I know of that you can try and that is to post the hardware ID's from each device in the device manager.
Copy and paste the ID's from the device manager instead of posting screenshots because it is much harder for me to look them up from a picture.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device.
How to Find Drivers for Unknown Devices in the Device Manager
Hopefully, there is some site that has 64 bit drivers for those devices.
BTW, did you try this driver pack?

Hey
Nope, did not tried this one, will do once i'm back at home (should be later today, not sure how late though). I'll also make the hadrware id list with it.
Btw thx for still trying to help, i really appreciate it. I know this device is beyond it's horizon, but given the personal reason it's worth trying to make it work again.
(and tbh i always hold the hp stuff in high value, even though the drives removal really surprised me... - i had multiple nb in the past, now i have a priter at home, nb i use at work or personal (pavilion x360) which is pretty decent one... even the 27xq monitor i have on my home pc is nice piece of hw (even though it has it's downsides)
I will update after trying the pack and with those hardware ids.
In the mean time have a nice day.

Hey
Sorry for the late reply, but i had bd to deal with (and all the preparations beforehand).
Anyway, i tried the pack you linked last time. It installed itself with no error, but the sound is sadly still not working / fixed. But one unknown and media thing device error driver disappeared though, so there are only 3 unnown / not working devices left.
Sadly i cannot tell what that one unknown was (haven't noticed change and since i did not tool a whole list screen i cannot compare it).
I've looked thru those ůast three and here are their data (at least what i think is important enough to write):

Hi, Jan:
The first device appears to be the audio device in need of a driver.
I found the driver for the hardware ID you posted on the Microsoft update catalog website:
1st one on the list:
There are no executable files in the catalog file.
What you have to do is to install the free 7-Zip file utility.
The 1st file at the link below is for 64 bit.
After you install 7-zip and download the driver file from the Microsoft Update Catalog website, right click on the file.
Select 7-zip from the list of items on the menu.
Have 7-Zip Extract to: and let it extract the file into that long folder name.
Don't be concerned with any messages generated as the file extracts.
Once the folder has been created, go to the device manager, click on the ACPI\VEN_14F1&DEV_0720 device needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that 7-zip created.
Make sure that the 'Include subfolders box is checked and hopefully the driver will install.
Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows driver support for the hardware ID you posted:
[Manufacturer]
%ManufacturerName%=Standard,NTamd64
[Standard.NTamd64]
; Cherry trail, HP
;;%cx2072x.DeviceDesc%=cx2072x_Device_cht, ACPI\VEN_14F1&DEV_0720&SUBSYS_8042103C ; Eagle

ACPI\VEN_8086&DEV_22A8: Looks to be another audio component driver.
Follow the same procedure as the other driver.
Here is a partial copy and paste of that driver setup information file which shows driver support for the ACPI\VEN_8086&DEV_22A8 device:
[IntelSST.NTamd64]
;;%IntelSSTAudio.DeviceDesc%=IntelSSTAudio,ACPI\80860F28 ; How ACPI enumerate SST?
;;%IntelSSTAudio.DeviceDesc%=IntelSSTAudio,ACPI\808622A8 ; for testing on HSLE and CHT board
%IntelSSTAudio.DeviceDesc%=IntelSSTAudio,ACPI\VEN_8086&DEV_22A8&SUBSYS_813E103C
%IntelSSTAudio.DeviceDesc%=IntelSSTAudio,ACPI\VEN_8086&DEV_22A8&SUBSYS_8173103C
%IntelSSTAudio.DeviceDesc%=IntelSSTAudio,ACPI\VEN_8086&DEV_22A8&SUBSYS_8244103C
The last one seems to be related to the webcam.
Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows driver support for the ACPI\VEN_OVTI&DEV_9728 hardware ID you posted:
; For XP and later
[Standard.NTamd64]
%ov9728.DeviceDesc%=ov9728_Device, ACPI\OVTI9728
Hopefully those drivers will work for you.
If not continue to do an internet search by those hardware ID's to see if you can find a driver.
You may have to resort to using one of those 3rd party driver finding software programs as long as you can get one that is free.
Good luck,
Paul

Hi
This really looks promising.
I've grabbed those files and unpacked them in separate folders in preparation (btw 7zip is one of those tool i install right away on new pc 🙂 ) . All those update packs reported "there are some data after the end of the payload data" at the end of extraction but i guess that's ok (since it's probably just some junk needed for the system during the update via os update).
Will test those drivers out once i'm back at the pc again (should be later today).
Also thx for showing me the windows catalog site - i was unaware such site exists (definitely goes into my bookmarks ^^) and i was almost as surprised as when i learned (not even month ago!) there's a hidden rightclick menu on win button that contains all the stuff i always look for in the win10 enviroment.
Will post an update about how those files worked.
