HP G62 laptop
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi, I need a bios upgrade for an HP G62 laptop model: WJ544AV but when I search for it on this website a different model shows up as the results.

Here are the results:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-G62-200-Notebook-PC-series/4150047/model/4188395

I don't know if this is correct.  I really don't want to install the wrong BIOS upgrade.

any suggestions.

thanks

Hi:

The product number you posted indicates you have this model...

HP G62t-250 CTO Notebook PC.

If your model has an Intel processor, then you are on the right page.

The BIOS update is for models with the Intel processor only.

yeah, it has an Intel core i3 processor.

but on the laptop itself it just says "G62"

and when I look at the laptop info in the HP advisor software, it says it's model: WJ544AV

it does not say - HP G62t-250 CTO Notebook PC anywhere.

thats why I am concerned.

thanks

Hi:

Every G62 notebook is more than a G62...There is no such model as a plain ol' G62.

I have a dv6810us (as decoded by the product number).

On the display screen it says dv6000.

On the sticker with the serial number it says dv6700.

You have to go by the product number like you did.

The only other thing you can do to confirm is to make sure that product number is also listed in the BIOS's system information screen.

Hi,

so the BIOS listed here is the proper BIOS upgrade for the laptop?

http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-G62-200-Notebook-PC-series/4150047/model/4188395

I was concerned that the search results were wrong and I was going to install the wrong BIOS upgrade.

Hi:

Yes, I would say that F.37 is the correct one for that product number.

Normally, if you try to flash the BIOS with an incompatible version it will warn you that it is incorrect.
